OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
“I’m Not What I’ve Done. I’m What I’ve OVERCOME…”
In this time of great crisis, we’re faced with challenges, shortcomings, fears and apprehensions on
how to deal with the unprecedented situations that overwhelm us. But the best part is – we’ve
NOT given up hope!
The new academic session of 2020-2021 began with the COVID-19 pandemic scare surrounding us.
The entire country was on lockdown, children were unable to attend school or play in the park. The
situation affected both our physical and mental health. Amidst all this, the Jaspalians rose to the
occasion to overcome these challenges with the help of our supportive school management,
experienced counsellor, our special school educator, and the entire fraternity of dedicated teachers.
The world of technology, e-learning, handling electronic gadgets etc. proved to be a daunting task.
The youngsters along with their parents were also a little apprehensive. To help overcome this, our
school counsellor, Dr. Gurleen Sawhney and special educator, Ms. Jyotsana Wadhwa conducted
several workshops through Zoom sessions, personal communications etc. to connect with the
parents and the students. By motivating and guiding them at every step, they helped address all
concerns regarding their mental and psychological health.
Session for Parents
This difficult time of Pandemic has not let JKPS to be away from the Jaspalian parents. To facilitate
parents about managing their kids with different activities, our Special Education & Counselling
department took virtual sessions for the parents of classes Pre-primary till 5. The sessions focused
on managing stress through grounding exercises and how one can keep physically as well as
mentally fit. The activities were explained through power point presentations. The sessions
received a positive feedback from parents.
