I Didn’t Miss the School in Last Two Months Because…
I didn’t miss the school in last two months because schools have found a way through which we can
attend online classes and engage with our teachers. The school management and our teachers have
created a virtual school. Through these classrooms, our teachers are always available to provide
answers to all our queries. A key advantage to online learning is that I can complete my work timely.
All the subjects were taught according to a planned timetable. All my subject teachers always try to
understand our problems and cooperate with us. I would like to acknowledge that technology really
is a helpful thing that makes life easy, comfortable and meaningful. My teachers make very nice
audio and/or video lessons and share them in class Whatsapp groups. During this lockdown I have
been in touch with all my subjects because my school has conducted online tests. I have also not lost
contact with my classmates. Not only academic learning but co–curricular activities were also
conducted online in which students participated enthusiastically. I am now able to use technology in
a more effective way. My teachers always keep conducting some activities in online classes which
make them more exciting and fun-filled. Nowadays, my teachers have also given holiday HW so that
we don’t keep on wasting our time during our holidays. We have to make PPT, complete worksheets
and undertake many reading activities. I appreciate my teachers and school management who are
working so hard to make our online classes possible and more interesting.

Unusual Times, Unusual Learning
“Prevention is Better than Cure” - The significance of this everlasting quote cannot be questioned.
Especially, at a time when world is fighting against the deadly COVID-19 which has become a serious
cause of global fear and concern. However, we can avoid this life threatening virus from affecting us
and our loved ones by being conscious and taking preventive measures. With the entire country
under lockdown and schools and colleges being closed, the scenario seemed grim. But there wasn’t a
lockdown of sunrise, creativity, imagination and ideas. Even though, most institutions are nowadays
conducting virtual classes but students are still finding it difficult to spend their time at home. We
are at a stage where we can constantly learn something new and engage ourselves in productive
activities.
This time is very precious and won’t come back again so I decided to use it wisely and spend it
creatively. During lockdown, I always start my day with morning exercises. It improves strength and
our ability to fight diseases. I feel fresh and it boosts my stamina. This is the best time to spend with
our families and loved ones. During our daily routine lives, we do not get enough time to spend with
our family. I learned to cook new dishes from my mother. My parents, grandparents and I, play board
games and it reminds me of my childhood days. I love to paint during free times as it is a creative
way to express myself and it soothes my mind. Reading is the perfect way to spend long lockdown
days and I spend a lot of my time reading e-books. My family sits together in the evening and we
watch mythological serials such as Ramayana and Mahabharata which our re-broadcasted on
television nowadays. It has helped me imbibe a lot of spiritual values. I also have discussions with
my grandparents about events that happened during colonial rule, how people suffered and how we
attained independence from the Britishers. - Reena Gupta (X-B)
